Meet the Pastor

Reverend Patrick D. Crews

Rev. Patrick Damascus Crews is an anointed man of God, called to lead God’s people into a deeper and more intentional relationship with God. Pastor Crews desires to walk and obey God’s perfect will and to be a positive voice to all generations to enhance the Kingdom of God.  He is the oldest son of Rev. James Crews, Jr., and Sister Laura G. Crews, and he is a proud to be labeled a Preacher’s Kid (PK).

Rev. Patrick D. Crews is an ordained Itinerant Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is happily married to his beautiful best friend, Samantha Tubbs-Crews.  He is the proud father of four children: Julius, Iaisha, Alysha, and Joshua. He is also the proud grandfather of Xavier.

Pastor Crews served in the Armed Forces of the United States Army as a Field Artillery Section Sergeant for six years, during the Desert Storm/Gulf War era. After being diagnosed with a service-connected illness, he received a medical retirement from the US Army. 

​

Through the power of prayer, faith, and hard work, Rev. Patrick D. Crews completed his undergraduate education at the University of South Florida where he received a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education and a minor from the College of Arts and Science. He also completed his graduate studies at National-Louis University where he received a Master of Education degree from the National College of Education in Chicago, Illinois. Rev. Crews is currently studying at Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio to earn a Master of Divinity degree.

Rev. Crews is employed with Hillsborough County Public Schools, and he is currently the Senior Pastor of New Saint Paul AME Church in Tampa, FL where God has purposed him with a vision of peace, praise, and perseverance. Pastor Crews believes in the power of obedience to authority for protection, power, and guidance.

After receiving his appointment from Bishop Frank Madison Reid, III, Pastor Patrick D. Crews accepted his first pastoral charge with enthusiasm and a nobleness to serve. Pastor Crews pays homage to his spiritual mentors: Rev. James Crews, Jr., Rev. Dr. Glenn B. Dames, Jr., Rev. Orenthia Mitchell, and Rev. Karen Jackson Sims, who continue to be very instrumental to him as he carries on the work of the Lord and boldly preaches the Word of God.  


Pastor Patrick D. Crews’ passion for ministry is to see the people of God walk in the promises of God as stated in Joshua 1:7 (NIV); “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.” Pastor Crews believes when we truly love God and trust that no matter what is happening in our lives or when we cannot make sense of it, God, who is both omnipotent and omnipresent, has abundant blessings and prosperity in store for us!

Finally, Rev. Patrick Damascus Crews is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc., and a Prince Hall Mason.
